Media reach – 105 million opportunities to see (OTS)
Splashes achieved – full, double and four page spreads
TeamSport is Europe’s number one operator of indoor go-kart tracks. With a 40 per cent rise in visitors in three years and having driven a 270 per cent hike in profits in one year alone, 33-year-old director Dom Gaynor then masterminded a £9 million management buyout and became MD.
To support the company’s plans to expand across the UK and to appeal to current and future investors, The View was tasked to increase awareness of its success and the MBO.
We devised a strategic media relations campaign across national broadsheets, tabloids, radio and online media. We negotiated an exclusive with The Sunday Times business section, features in The Independent, City AM, the Huffington Post and a full page in The Daily Telegraph.
A ripple effect into wider media helped create ubiquity for the story. Follow-up articles were sold in to The Sun (highlighting youth employment opportunities at TeamSport in National Apprenticeship Week).
Local media serving key tracks invited families to race and review them and the Radio X breakfast crew battled it out at the Tower Bridge track, with much after-event banter and social media.
We provided media with a plethora of stats and facts, as well as in-depth information and pictures about the people behind the brand and the buyout, all key ingredients for Believability™. Investors lapped it up – and TeamSport went into overdrive.
